How INHERIT is governed — decision-making, roles, and the path to community ownership.
INHERIT is governed under a Founding Steward model during its early stage. Richard Davies, founder of Testate Technologies Ltd, serves as Founding Steward with the explicit goal of transitioning to community governance as adoption grows.
Key Principles#
- Open standard, open process — all schema changes go through public proposals and review
- Apache 2.0 licence — free to use, free to implement, irrevocable
- No vendor lock-in — the standard is not controlled by any single company
